Vera Anyim, the lady who became famous because of the controversy that trailed her recent testimony at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, has reached out to Nigerians for support in finding secure accommodation.

Anyim made the appeal in a video that started making the rounds on the internet on Thursday.

Anyim’s testimony, initially questioned by the church’s Senior Pastor, Paul Enenche, sparked widespread debate online.

Enenche interrupted and questioned the credibility of Anyim’s testimony at his church.

The woman, who claimed to have graduated with a “BSc in Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria, was accused of lying by the senior pastor.

He said that her speech did not align with that of a law graduate and insisted that no such degree as a “BSc in Law” existed.

The incident ignited varied reactions on social media when it was discovered that the testimony was genuine, with some calling on Enenche to apologise for his actions, while others defended his stance.

The church had in a statement, apologised to Anyim.

They stated that the Senior Pastor’s actions were driven by a dedication to maintaining standards of excellence and integrity within the church community.

Anyim who recently returned from a sponsored vacation at Portland Resorts Hotel in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is now seeking assistance from Nigerians to secure new accommodation.

She deemed her current living situation unsafe and calls upon the public for support.

She said, “I want to say to Nigerians, you know this thing that happened is a thing of joy, I never dreamed of it, it came this moment, I never dream of being a celebrity.

“It just came all of a sudden. I never prepared for it. I want to use this medium to urge us to assist me with accommodation because I am not buoyant now to rent a house. Where I am staying now is risky and insecure. It is a very open place and everybody has already known I am a celebrity.

“When I left Abuja, some people in my compound didn’t know what was happening, but I was there, and so many of them have heard what was going on. Some have said they are waiting for me. My brother, who stays with me, told me that people gathered, all waiting for me.

She expressed concern that people might misunderstand the situation and assume she received a large sum of money during her time in Port Harcourt

The chairman of the Port Harcourt-based resort, Azubuike Ihemeje, had invited Anyim for an all-expense paid trip.

“That is why I am voicing out, asking for assistance to enable me to get a place I can stay so that my life can be safe. As I’m talking to you, I’m just hiding myself so that people will not come and misbehave at my side.

“So, please, if there is any way you can help me for me to get accommodation where I can be secured as a human being, intelligent people know what I am talking about.

“I don’t need to move or stay anyhow. If you don’t mind, you can assist me. Nothing is too small.”

They also contended that charges involving one accuser should have been separated from those involving three other accusers due to video evidence that was central to the trial.

The appeals court, however, rejected Kelly’s arguments. It noted that jurors acquitted Kelly on seven of the thirteen counts against him, even after viewing the video evidence that was presented during the trial. This evidence showed Kelly allegedly abusing a girl, with the accuser, identified only as Jane, testifying for the first time that she was 14 when the video was taken.

Furthermore, the court dismissed Kelly’s claim that he should not have been prosecuted since the allegations occurred while Illinois law required prosecution of child sex crime charges within ten years. The panel labeled this argument as an attempt by Kelly to evade charges after employing a complex scheme to keep victims quiet.

Despite the court’s decision, Kelly’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, stated that they plan to seek U.S. Supreme Court review of the decision and continue pursuing all appellate remedies until Kelly is freed. She expressed disappointment in the ruling but emphasized that their fight is far from over.

Additionally, prosecutors in Chicago had sought an even tougher sentence of 25 years for Kelly, and they wanted the 20-year sentence from the Chicago case to be served simultaneously with the 30-year sentence imposed in 2022 in New York for federal racketeering and sex trafficking convictions. However, Judge Harry Leinenweber rejected this request, ordering Kelly to serve the 20-year sentence from the Chicago case first.

Adigwe died on Tuesday evening. His death was announced on Facebook by popular film producer and singer, Mike Nliam.
He wrote, “An Icon passed on today. A rare gem with a fantastic sense of humor!

” We became close in 2003 when I cast him as part of the cast of the movie “Blood Diamonds”which was shot on location in Sierra Leone immediately after the country’s civil war.

“The film, which also starred other Nollywood greats as well as Sierra Leone star actors was written by Mucktarr Tejan Cole , financed and produced by Sam Kargbo and directed by Teco Benson .

“Uncle Zulu until his death starred in “a thousand and one” Nollywood movies and endeared himself to audiences across d world with his great baritone voice and his acting skills.

‘He was also a music enthusiast which led him to collaborate with Abay Esho and my humble self in a song he wrote titled “Ugo Buluum”.

Nollywood actor Williams Uchemba has lamented over the choice of outfit ladies wear to the gym.

The movie star, in a video on his official Instagram account, lamented that women now wear revealing outfits to the gym, and the times he goes to the gym, he sees something he didn't plan to see.

He also revealed that, due to this trend, he stopped going to public gym because of his desire to "make heaven."

He said, "Ladies how far? Should all the men not come to the gym again? Because it's getting out of hand and becoming appalling, I don tire. Make una try to dey wear beta cloth come gym nau, what is this?

"There are men that have made up their minds to make the heavenly race and na una dey plenty for gym. Whoever that sells these clothes to you people, their shop go burn down because what is going on? Every single time one comes to the gym, wetin you no plan see you must see am.

"Una don make up una mind say no man in this Nigeria will make heaven but It won’t work because I've left the gym for una, I've set up a gym in my house because I cannot cope, I want to make heaven. You will have 20 people in the gym, 300 are women, doing exercises.

"Have conscience, men are people's children too, I’m speaking for all the men and we need to make heaven."

The family of the late actor, John Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope has said that he will be buried on May 17, 2024, in his Uwala Abaka, Ukehe hometown, in Nsukka, Igboetiti Local Government Area of Enugu State

The 43-year-old actor died alongside four others on April 10 when their boat capsized in the River Niger while returning from a movie shoot.

A funeral announcement signed by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family disclosed that the burial arrangements began on April 23 with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish, Asaba, Delta State.

It further stated that another requiem mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Parish, G.R.A, Enugu, on May 13.

“This will be followed by an evening of tributes/candlelight at Amadeo Event Center in the same state on May 14.

“On May 16, the wake will be held at his country home, Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Nsukka, Igboetiti, LGA of Enugu State, and his interment will be done immediately after the burial mass at St. Peter’s Parish, Ukehe, on May 17.

“A final thanksgiving mass will be held on Sunday, May 19 at St. Peter’s Parish Ukehe Nsukka, Igboetiti LGA, Enugu,” it added.

A Dead dolphin with multiple bullet holes was found in Louisiana. According to reports reaching us at Dreddsworld, the Feds are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.

The dead bottlenose dolphin was reported on West Mae’s Beach in Cameron Parish on March 13, per The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Fisheries Service.

On Tuesday, NOAA Fisheries said the necropsy revealed there were “multiple bullets lodged in the dolphin’s brain, spinal cord, and heart.”

The NOAA’s Office of Law Enforcement is now investigating and asking the public for any information about the dolphin’s death.

Under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, it is a crime to hunt, harass, capture, kill, or attempt to do so, to any marine mammal, including dolphins. Violators face up to $100,000 in fines and up to one year in jail per violation.

Nigerians have called out Vera Anyim, the lady who became famous because of the controversy that trailed her recent testimony at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, for asking Nigerians for support in finding secure accommodation.

In a video that became viral on Thursday, Anyim who now describes herself as a celebrity called on Nigerians to help her secure a new accommodation.

Reacting to her call for help, several netizens expressed shock at her request, saying she should have priority in securing employment.

Jasper Aniet Louis, who tweets as @trueAFICIONADO, expressed concerns about how she would manage to pay the rent after the initial payment if Nigerians assist her in finding a place to live.

@trueAFICIONADO wrote, “Instead to look for employment, or business to do, na comfortable accommodation, she is looking for? Who will help continue the payment of the rent?

Another tweep, Alfred The Hermit who identifies as @OrokwaDas1, said her request should be to her pastor instead of forgiving him as compensation.

@OrokwaDas1 wrote, “The opportunity to get some cool cash from Yahoo pastor that defamed your character, you said your forgive, na Nigerians wey no do you anything, na us now go change your accommodation……sumthing dey worry you.”
