1 Corinthians 10:19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. 

10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. 

10:22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
The spirit of jealousy is predominant in idolaters family!
God himself who is the Creator does not demand his creatures to worship what he has created but him only!
Idolatry is an abomination of desolation any where.

Idolatry and idolatrous things are all an abomination to the lord.

it's unfortunate that many Christians who are born again have not yet been delivered from idolatrous bondages spiritually and they still remain in bondage to such demonic cultures, traditions, covenants, vain conversations, oaths sacrifices and altars of their ancestors and tribal backgrounds.
Luke 3:9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
This is why Jesus Christ said "Now the axe is laid on the root (foundation) of the tree(person).

without deliverance from abominations, a Christian will be living a sinful life!
A Christian will not be able to serve God in fear(positive) Holiness and righteousness all the remaining days of. their lives!

A Christian must definitely break soul ties, covenants, curses, oaths,agreements with idols and demons their ancestors have made and served from the 1st generation to the 4th so that they would be cleared.

Do you get upset when you cannot control others? Or moody and irritated when people don’t do what you want? Do you react when your mistakes are pointed out? Or try to force people to comply with your demands? Do you exaggerate your pain, sickness, or need in order to gain attention or sympathy? Or criticise the opinions and choices of others and position yourself as superior? Do you become angry and abusive when someone disagrees with you or challenges your authority? Are you reluctant to compliment others but quick to try and fix something you think is wrong with them? Do you find it hard to say, ‘I need you’? Do you try to drive a wedge between your loved ones and anyone else who gets close to them? Do you ‘give orders’ to those you interact with, rather than using the simple courtesies of ‘please’ and ‘thank you’?

If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then the word for today is—don’t be so controlling! The Bible says, ‘Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honour giving preference to one another’ (Romans 12:10 NKJV). That means stopping to consider how your behaviour affects other people. You say, ‘But I just happen to have a strong personality.’ Sorry, that doesn’t let you off the hook! ‘A servant of the Lord must… not quarrel but be gentle to all …’ (2 Timothy 2:24 NKJV).

So, if you’re a controller, start changing your ways! And if you’re being controlled because you fear anger and rejection, it’s time to draw a line in the sand. Seek help from a trusted friend, church leader, or healthcare professional, especially if you feel at risk. Ask God to help you stand firm and refuse to be controlled any longer.

Be a disciple of Jesus

‘The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.’ Acts 11:26

Today is ANZAC Day. It’s a day to commemorate the sacrifices made by Australian and New Zealand troops in World War I in 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey. The British led a campaign aimed to secure a sea route to Russia by capturing Constantinople, now known as Istanbul. However, the mission faced immense challenges, leading to heavy casualties on both sides. Sacrificing your life for a cause is incredibly honourable. When you think of the sacrifice Jesus made for us so we could have eternal life, would you not gladly lay down your sinful life to become His disciple? Becoming a Christian is the work of a moment; it happens when you place your trust in Christ. But becoming a disciple is the work of a lifetime; it calls for denying yourself and saying yes to the will of God every day of your life. What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? Three things:

1) To listen to Him and learn. That calls for reading, studying, memorising, verbalising, and applying the truths taught in the Scriptures to your life each day.

2) To follow Him wherever He leads. This may call for changing your plans, forfeiting some of your relationships, and giving Him access to things you would like to hold on to.

3) To be devoted to Him. One day, Jesus said to Peter, ‘…“Do you love Me more than these?”’ (John 21:15 NKJV). Note the word ‘more’. To be a disciple means to love Jesus more than anyone or anything else. And it’s the most fulfilling and rewarding life you can live!

Be A Disciple Of Jesus

> “Time is like a river made up of the events which happen, and a violent stream; for as soon as a thing has been seen, it is carried away, and another comes in its place, and this will be carried away too.” - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations Book 4, 45.

Upon the occasion of one of his stepsons Tutor’s deaths, Marcus Aurelius was said to have wept so violently that the palace guards attempted to restrain him. Marcus’ stepfather, Antoninus, told the guards to leave him be,

“Neither philosophy nor empire,” Antoninus said, “takes away natural feeling.”

Indeed, no Stoic would advocate the removal of the emotions, and when someone close to you dies, it will be a great emotional burden to you. Grief is not irrational, and indeed this natural feeling of loss is integral to our humanity and our moral compass. It, like everything else, plays a part in life which is essential, if not enjoyable.

In this text, I hope to challenge you to see life and death differently, and in so doing, perhaps cushion the blow which is inevitable. I will reiterate that grief is no violation of any Stoic law, and it is those who turn away from honest emotions who live unstoically. However, there is also a balance to maintain, as Seneca puts it,

> “Let not the eyes be dry when we have lost a friend, nor let them overflow. We may weep, but we must not wail.”

It seems absurd that within the critical moment of loss we have a duty to ourselves to be moderate in our grieving, yet that is what the Stoics believed we ought to do. Consider Epictetus’ words on the matter,

> “With regard to whatever objects give you delight, are useful, or are deeply loved, remember to tell yourself of what general nature they are, beginning from the most insignificant things. If, for example, you are fond of a specific ceramic cup, remind yourself that it is only ceramic cups in general of which you are fond. Then, if it breaks, you will not be disturbed. If you kiss your child, or your wife, say that you only kiss things which are human, and thus you will not be disturbed if either of them dies.” Enchiridion 3

It is important that we remember that the Stoics encouraged grieving, so ‘disturbed’ does not refer to your emotional grief, but your philosophical resolve. This is the first and most important thing of all: what do you believe about life and death? If you are as most men are, you neglect to think about death often, despite it being a constant around you and an inevitability for you. Such philosophical neglect allows others to fill in your mind with their beliefs about death, and that is why there is a prevailing belief that death is bad. Being unphilosophical about the inevitabilities of life is the greatest curse one can place on themselves, for that which is inevitable will come, and you shall either deal with it as a man prepared or a man unprepared. There is a day coming when you will be thrown into the sea. Shall you not then learn how to swim?

Part of our philosophical duty to ourselves is to see things just as they are, and remove the incorrect biases that make these things appear more terrible than they actually are. This applies to all things, for a stressful interview is no more than a single millisecond in the measuring of all time, and this body is no more than a collection of cells, and death is nothing more than the dissolution of those cells. So in preparing for death, both of our loved ones and our own, we must remember that it is us who judge it. Many a death is celebrated by cruel men, many a death never affects you and thus is indifferent, so how can you say death is bad when you treat every death differently? If death itself was mournful, your tears would never cease. No, rather it is the death of those close to us that upsets us, and we may even find smaller but similar griefs in the destruction of a treasured relationship, where we find ourselves grieving something which we once had. The difference here is finality, a past friend may be met once again, but the dead survive only in memory, their time has passed, and all opportunities for time or experience with them are no more than wishes. A seemingly bitter truth, that death is the end, and a sadder truth that men latch onto the past and regret not doing this or that for their loved one.

If they had perceived the finality and inevitability of death, would they have such regrets? Would they have left words unsaid? No, and this is the philosophically freeing thing about Stoicism, you have no more time left to live except this moment. The past is but a memory and the future does not belong to you, only this moment exists. As Marcus Aurelius puts it,

> “So you must not think a man has lived long because he has white hair and wrinkles: he has not lived long, just existed long. For suppose you should think that a man had had a long voyage who had been caught in a raging storm as he left harbour, and carried hither and thither and driven round and round in a circle by the rage opposing winds. He did not have a long voyage, just a long tossing about.” Seneca, On the Shortness of Life

Life without purpose will never be long enough, and life with purpose finds itself satisfied with whatever may come. Does this seem to be in conflict with feelings of grief? It is not, in the same way that I feel the pain of an injury while also recognizing no true harm has befallen me, so too I shall feel emotional distress while seeing that nothing bad has happened to me. It is for us to judge whether emotional or physical distress is bad or good or indifferent, so feel it and tell me if you have been harmed by it? I do not claim either are enjoyable, but I do not also see how these things change my character into something less than what I would want it to be, and because who I am is my most treasured possession, such pains do not harm me.

Indeed, the person I choose to be is my only true possession, with all possessions and peoples around me eventually becoming dust just as I will. It is the choices I make which define my person, and nothing more do I honestly and truly control, not even my body is within my control, for does it not fall into sickness and disrepair? If I truly controlled it, I would not have it do these things. So I do not see the emotional distresses of life as an evil, but as a trial to take up gladly. I see my character tested by difficulty and I thank life for such difficulties, for if my character is not tested how am I to discover my own capabilities? And do we not better enjoy the sweetness of things because of the bitterness of other things? Shall you tell me that mortality is an evil when it brings us humans so much closer together? If your loved one could not die, would you not always have time to spend with her? And in knowing this, would you not neglect your duty to do so?

The ephemeral nature of life is what makes it possible for us to waste it… and to make good use of it. In treating death as something bad, we make the judgment that infinite life is good, but what use would you have of others if you were immortal? Would you find yourself more in love with those close to you, or would you drift away with the thought that you could always return? Finality is a gift, and perhaps it is a gift more like a needle than like a warm bowl of food, but it is a gift nonetheless. If this present moment is all we live, then it is imperative that we heed the words of Marcus Aurelius and Seneca,

> “Wander aimlessly no longer. For neither will you read your own memoirs, nor the acts of the ancient Romans and Greeks, and the selections from books which you were reserving for old age. Hasten then to the end which you have before you, and throwing away idle hopes, come to your own aid while it is in your power to do so, if you care at all for yourself.” Meditations, Book 3, 14

“The greatest obstacle to living is expectancy, which hangs upon tomorrow and loses today… The whole future lies in uncertainty: live immediately!” - Seneca, On the Shortness of Life

If you believe something important, then remember you have no more time for it than you give presently, and remember that this adds a sort of urgency to life that is good, so that we are not lackadaisical in our learning. You have not lost your loved one yet, and indeed what you truly grieve is that you shall not have any new experiences with her. Go now, and have them, do not miss the opportunity presented to you, and when the time comes, think of what you did for her while it was in your power. You were not wasteful with that which you knew would leave you, and though these experiences may even add to the sting of her death, in future times made present you shall recall that you did not shy away from reality in false hope, you embraced what was inevitable, and you set about using your time as a wise man would.

> “Don’t let yourself forget how many doctors have died, furrowing their brows over how many deathbeds. How many astrologers, after pompous forecasts about others’ ends. How many philosophers, after endless disquisitions on death and immortality. How many warriors, after inflicting thousands of casualties themselves. How many tyrants, after abusing the power of life and death atrociously, as if they were themselves immortal. How many whole cities have met their end: Helike, Pompeii, Herculaneum, and countless others.

And all the ones you know yourself, one after another. One who laid out another for burial, and was buried himself, and then the man who buried him - all in the same short space of time.

In short, know this: Human lives are brief and trivial. Yesterday a blob of semen; tomorrow embalming fluid, ash.

To pass through this brief life as nature demands. To give it up without complaint.

Like an olive that ripens and falls.

Praising its mother, thanking the tree it grew on.” - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations Book 4, 48.

When death comes to you, whatever has happened to you will be set in time. These things which happen to us cannot be determined nor controlled, and thus whatever life we live is not one of a sequence of events, but rather a sequence of opinions. It is not the life we live but the opinions we hold of it that ultimately matter, this is why ridding ourselves of false beliefs about life and death will help us to become more tranquil, regardless of circumstance.

> “No man is crushed by misfortune unless he has first been deceived by prosperity.” - Seneca, On Grief for Lost Friends

So do not be deceived, do not think a thing is good because it gives pleasure or some material benefit to you, rather see it as a preferred indifferent, and focus instead on that which is in your control, live according to the words of Epictetus,

“Some things are in our control and others not. Things in our control are opinion, pursuit, desire, aversion, and, in a word, whatever are our own actions. Things not in our control are body, property, reputation, command, and, in one word, whatever are not our own actions.

> The things in our control are by nature free, unrestrained, unhindered; but those not in our control are weak, slavish, restrained, belonging to others. Remember, then, that if you suppose that things which are slavish by nature are also free, and that what belongs to others is your own, then you will be hindered. You will lament, you will be disturbed, and you will find fault both with gods and men. But if you suppose that only to be your own which is your own, and what belongs to others such as it really is, then no one will ever compel you or restrain you. Further, you will find fault with no one or accuse no one. You will do nothing against your will. No one will hurt you, you will have no enemies, and you not be harmed.” Epictetus, Enchiridion 1

Be slave not to desire nor aversion, free your mind from these things and look at life as a collection of uncontrollable events, and not events as good or bad, but indifferent, and subject to opinion. Embrace all things with the knowledge that they are not unfolded, not yet, and that judging things as bad makes them so, and that even death, which is ever so painful, is good and just. In the face of an ignorant person exercise patience and restraint, in the face of cruelty show goodness and kindness, in the face of praise show humility, and in the face of tragedy show resolve.

Fate holds you in its hands, and what will happen, will happen. Only your opinion is in your power, and you may choose to curse what happens but it will happen all the same, and you will bemoan your state when you could have accepted it. Cleanthes poem on fate is apt in this situation,

> My Father, whithersoever thou shalt wish

I shall not falter, but obey with speed.

And though I would not, I shall go, and suffer

In sin and sorrow what I might have done

In noble virtue. Aye, the willing soul

Fate leads, but the unwilling drags along.

One doesn’t get to choose how their life unfolds or what becomes of them, but one does get to choose what they think of it, so to everything that befalls you, accept it and do not go with resentment or hatred. It is the mark of a wise man to live not demanding nor expecting anything from life. Is there any scroll upon which things are guaranteed to you? No? Then do not expect life to spare you from pain, and do not find difficulties unexpected, rather, look at life honestly and see that difficulties beset us all and it is in our power to choose whether difficulties toss us about or strengthen us. Echo these words of Marcus Aurelius in your daily living,

> “Everything harmonizes with me, which is harmonious to thee, O universe. Nothing for me is too early or late, wish is in due time for thee. Everything is fruit to me which thy seasons bring, O nature: from thee are all things, in thee are all things, to thee all things return.” Meditations Book 4, 23.

Stoicism: A Meditation On Death

Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide have eased the discipline for youth members after “serious wrongdoing”. The new guideline came within two weeks after the decision of the Oslo District Court in Norway to strip the Jehovahs of their official status as a registered faith community.

The faith community seems to be trying to get a better position in the appeal case in Norway. The community came under attack for its rigid rules regarding discipline to “baptised minors”.

Among Jehovah’s Witnesses, it is usual that children choose for baptism between 12 and 16 years. Religiously, they are seen as responsible members than, who can be disciplined. There have been cases of “disfellowship” after “serious wrongdoing”, resulting in “shunning”, isolation and contact bans. For individuals and families, this can be rigid and feel like psychological violence.

For the Norwegian state, this practice is controversial because those “baptised minors” are legally still kids. The state feels responsible for protecting the minors. After complaints of psychological violence, the authorities decided in 2021 to rip the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Norway from the legal status, which they had since 1985. According to experts, this is the first time a faith community lost its legal position in Norway.

This registration in Norway gives access to huge amounts of state subsidies. The monetary support is about NOK 16 million (1.3 million euros) every year. Over three years, together with interest, the JW demanded NOK 50 million (4.3 million euros).

With the de-registration, the Jehovah’s Witnesses also lost the right to perform civil marriages. Traditionally, marriages were performed by the Lutheran state church. Nowadays, all recognised faith communities (including the Humanist Society) can perform civil marriage.

The JW community in Norway –which consists of 12,000 members in 700 local congregations– went to court about the decision. The public sessions in court took two weeks in January.

Dozens of people involved came to testify how significant the damage of exclusion had been for them. Others came to tell of the fear of being excluded from the community in which they had lived and, therefore, remained within the community anyway. Some people told of years of pressure that led to lifelong emotional impact.

The conclusion was clear: disfellowship and shunning exist. 

However, legally, the central question was whether this is part of the community’s freedom of belief or whether it restricts the freedom of those (minors) involved. And could it be a ground for de-registration? This is a new field since this is the first group that has been ripped off registration.

On March 4th, the judges confirmed the state’s position. On March 28th, the Jehovah’s announced the appeal.

“Simple greeting”

Before the appeal was made known, another announcement came from JW: “Adjustments to handling serious wrongdoing in the congregation”.

The new rules published in a video mid-March include a softening of the contact ban. Members may use their “Bible-trained conscience” to decide on a “simple greeting” to a person removed from the congregation. It is no longer expected “to ignore him completely”.

According to a confidential document that leaked to the critical platform Jehovahs-Witness(dot)com, the discipline of baptised minors has been liberalised even further. From now on, only two elders meet with the person and his parents or guardians. Before, this was a committee. The elders “will exercise patience as they work with the parents to understand the minor’s attitude”. After this, they cooperate with the parents “to assist their child”.

Before, there was just one meeting, after which the committee decided within two hours whether to take steps to “disfellowship” or not.

The new measures have been introduced with unusual haste. Usually, there is more time and rest in the procedure. That is remarkable because the organisation defended the then-current practice of disfellowship as Biblical last December. A German lawyer who himself is part of the Jehovah’s Witnesses thinks it difficult not to see the connection with the Oslo court decision.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses claim to have been active in Norway since the 1890s. In the early 1980s, they applied for registration. In those days, this was controversial within the community, since by doing that the Jehovahs would accept to be placed on the same level with other churches. However, the advantage was clear: the group would receive the same money as the state church and other groups.

Also, the Jehovah’s Witnesses have an official registration in other countries, like Germany and Italy. However, the conditions and profits differ from country to country.

In Norway, the court case has been characterised as the most important judicial procedure about religious freedom in decades. Spokesman Jørgen Pederson of the Jehovah’s Witnesses does not speak to the press but distributes a written statement after the decision. The decision by the judges about the “State’s offensive allegation” is “deeply disappointing”, Pederson writes. The state could “not provide a single verified example of a victimised child”. For him, this judgement confirms that Jehovah’s Witnesses are “often victims of disinformation”.

The case will continue in the appeal stages. Experts find it likely that the case might end in Strasbourg at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

Reactions to the court’s decision were of two types. First, some welcomed the verdict. Freedom of religion can never be absolute, and the state must curtail long-term wrongdoings. They were not impressed by Pederson’s comment that there was “no single verified example” of abuse.

Several academics stated that the freedom of religion is not at stake here since the Witnesses can still hold fast to their interpretation of the Scriptures and teach this in their gatherings. The scope of disciplinary action is limited, but that is because the rights of others are at stake.

A second group of reactions is much more critical. They do not defend the practice of shunning but still think that this should be protected legally. The Baptist Standard, for instance, guessed that Norway might lose its reputation for human rights because of this intervention in the religious liberty.

Also, Willy Fautré, director of the Brussels-based organisation Human Rights Without Frontiers, is concerned. “We see that there are more and more attempts in Europe by state institutions to interfere and intrude into the teachings and practices of religious groups, which is forbidden by the European Convention.”

The editor of the Christian daily Dagen, Vebjørn Selbekk, wrote in January that this case does intervene in the free interpretation of Scripture, since the understanding of discipline is a theological issue.

He finds it cowardly to take on the Witnesses now. They have no friends or allies in the Norwegian society. And since they are not voting, there is no political risk in doing this either. “But precisely in such cases, when the great majority applauds and rejoices that a religious community loses its rights, there is a special reason to be vigilant”, Selbekk wrote. “That’s how they do it in countries we don’t usually like to be compared to.”

Female priests

The professor in the Study of Religion at the University of Oslo, Dr. Dag Øistein Endsjø, is critical too, he says in an interview with CNE.news. “The state must guarantee equality. Suppose the state recognises one community and not the other. In that case, there is differential treatment that must be justified. This goes about tax money as well. As far as I can see, the state has not proven that such unequal treatment is justified, and thus, this may be a case of discrimination in relation to religious freedom.”

For Endsjø, it is “hard to deduce from the material” that the religious groups violate the rights of children. “If, however, this really was proven, the state would, according to its duty to always protect the best interest of the child, have to do much more to stop this practice than just withdrawing the registration and letting the rest go.”

According to Endsjø, one must always have the human rights protection of the autonomy of the faith community in mind. General rules on various forms of equality do, for instance, not apply within the theological dealings of a church. “The state does not have the right to enforce its own vision upon a religious group. If that was the case, the Norwegian state could even have made the Roman Catholics accept female priests.”

Jehovah’s Witnesses Ease Shunning Rules After Blow In Oslo Court

Sura 5:46 reads;

And We sent Jesus, the son of Mary, after those Prophets, confirming the truth of whatever there still remained of the Torah. And We gave him the Gospel, wherein is guidance and light, and which confirms the truth of whatever there still remained of the Torah,76 and a guidance and admonition for the God-fearing.

Notice the phrase, 'We Sent Jesus'. This implies that they were more than one. Otherwise, it should have read, 'I sent Jesus'.

My question is who is Allah referring to? Who are the 'We'.

The Quran says that Allah has no partner but Sura 5:46 says otherwise.

Please, I need an answer to this contradiction.

Who Is Allah's Partner In Sura 5:46?

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted upon his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. Psalm 24:4

Walking with God requires living holy because God is holy. According to the Scriptures, two can’t walk together if they do not agree. When we live holy, we are in agreement with God. The Lord spoke with Abram thus: “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.” Genesis 17:1

In our Bible reading for today, we are confronted with some fundamental requirements for an acceptable walk with God. The first one is clean hands. If your hands are defiled, you cannot walk with God. What is it that defiles a man’s hands? Blood money is one; money that belongs to another person or organisation but you have taken unlawfully is another. Also, your hands are defiled by the unlawful touch of another man’s wife or another woman’s husband.

“Can a man take fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So he that goeth in to his neighbour ‘s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.” Proverbs 6:27-29

Moreover, only a man with a pure heart can effectively and acceptably walk with God. The heart is deceitful and desperately wicked, but God is able to remove this wickedness. This is why everyone must surrender his or her heart to God for spiritual surgery through genuine repentance. The Scripture says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. If we confess our sins to God, He is faithful to give us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God also promises: “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and I will give them an heart of flesh: that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.” Ezekiel 11:19-20

Jesus Christ said that we cannot serve God and Mammon. Also, the Bible enjoins us not to love the world and its vanities. Failure to heed this scriptural injunction is lifting up our soul unto vanity. The love of money can hinder our Christian walk with God. It makes Christians do such things as swearing to false affidavits. May the Lord deliver you from anything that works against your walk with God in Jesus’ name.

Using 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, pray that God will enable you to shun anything that will hinder your walk with Him.

Finally when Jesus worshipped the father in Matthew 26:39, they never used worshipped even it is clear he was earnestly praying to someone greater than him!

Going a little farther, he (Jesus) fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

They Made Jesus God For Christians!

Yesterday, I discussed the importance of being totally focused while praying. Today, I will continue the discussion on how to pray effectively.

When you pray, you must note that prayer is not a one-way conversation but a dialogue between you and God. In other words, prayer is not complete when you only talk to God and do not give Him the opportunity to speak back to you. In fact, whenever I pray, and I don’t get a response from God, I become worried because I really want to hear what He has to say. Even if his response is a rebuke, at least I know He has heard me. Habakkuk 2:1 says:

The reason many people don’t hear from God is that they just come to the place of prayer and start making requests. Isaiah 55:6 says that you should call on Him when He is near. You must first draw Him near to you before you call on Him. Psalm 100:4 says:

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.

The Scripture above means that if you want to go near God, as you enter into His courts, you should come with praises and thanksgiving.

In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus taught the disciples how to pray. He started with praise, saying, “Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.” It is this praise that gets you into His courts and then gives you an audience with Him. Before you pray, praise God first. For a prayer session of one hour, spend at least 50 minutes praising Him. After you have praised Him sufficiently and He has drawn near to you, you can be sure that He can hear you and that you will receive answers to your prayers.

When You Pray II

I migrated to The North Last year and this was the best decision of my life. For the first time, i actually had a feel of life as a Nigerian.

Warri life had made me hardened and ruthless. Always aggressive and looking to stir trouble from minor misunderstanding, but the folks in the north are always meek and would even apologise even if i started the scuffle.

But there is one problem. A big problem. I need a woman. I don't mean sex mate, man can always get that one, i mean i need a woman to share life with. I have had flings with many northern girls and it was fine, but the one's i truly like would not like me for obvious reasons, "Religion". Their parents always object to them being my friends in the first place.

I take contacts daily but end up deleting them or not calling them. Some of these girls are very very different from Southern girls and they seem primitive. I even had one that burnt her pant just because she got wet from my touch. That girl was yeaning for sex love at the time but i got impatient and left her because of her always chanting "Allahu" something, whenever i get close to her.

To be honest, this is a big concern to me because i really need a real woman to start my life with. And i have already stopped talking to these northern girls.

Therefore, considering Jesus divine, as “God the Son”, is forbidden. 
Judaism's rejection of Jesus as the Messiah is based on Jewish eschatology, which holds that the coming of the true Messiah will be associated with events that have not yet occurred, such as the rebuilding of The Temple, a Messianic Age of peace, and the ingathering of Jews to their homeland.[3][4]

Judaism does not accept any of the claimed fulfilments of prophecy that Christianity attributes to Jesus. 

Israelis who endorse the belief that Jesus is the Messiah or Christ are not considered Jews by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel nor by the Israeli government.

Christians need to understand that the Israelis (Jews) undermine the core and essence of Christianity - which is Christ! They are not your best friends as you think and do not believe in the accounts of the New Testament which is the backbone of Christianity!

Do You Know Jews Don’t Believe Jesus Is The Son Of God

The Bible is a book adored by Christians. It has been found to contain a lot of errors, lies and contradictions and thus not a reliable book. I made a thread about it here, in case ya'll wanna check it out and debate on the points there. Unfortunately for Christians, the gaffess were so many, and they could not come up with any defenses. 
But in this thread, I'm gonna concentrate on the creation story, cos a Christian challenged me to(Just like another christian challenged me to open a thread about the bible errors and in the end he never gave any defenses). The errors are so much that I have to take them in parts. So this is only Part 1

What are the factual errors in the Genesis creation account?
There are several errors, since it’s a creation myth based on the knowledge, superstitions and misconceptions of the people who wrote it, just like any other creation myth. Let’s consider just some of them:

1. Duration time for the creation. This is the first considerable problem. Genesis says that, from the early stages of the earth’s formation to the dawn of man, only six days passed, which is obviously wrong. We know this whole process took about 4 billion years. Many apologists try to solve this crude mistake by declaring that the word “day” has a more vague meaning, such as six general divisions of time. We don’t know this, however, and the whole context of the story seems closer to 24 hour days (for example, we constantly read “And the evening and the morning were the first day.”).

2. The order of creation days. The order in which the creation events happened in the bible and the true geological and biological evolution of the earth are completely different. Some examples follow:

a. In Genesis 1:7 it says God divided the waters above and under the firmament. The only logical way to interpret this “firmament” or “heavens”, is the atmosphere, where water in vapour form is stored and eventually falls as rain. If this was done in a subsequent stage of the earth’s formation (day two), we would expect that the amount of water vapour in the atmosphere should increase over time. We however know that the exact opposite happened, as carbon dioxide and water vapour were partly replaced by oxygen.

b. In Genesis 1:11 it suggests that plants were the first form of life to appear, what is obviously wrong. It also suggests that plants and animals appeared in different times, what we know not to be true. Last, if compared to Genesis 1:16–18, it indicates that plants came before the sun, which would be impossible since sunlight is a fundamental ingredient to the process of photosynthesis, which is how plants produce their food.

c. In Genesis 1:16–18, as discussed before, the sun comes only after the plants appeared on the planet, which is obviously absurd. Some apologists try to save this by alleging that the sun already existed but wasn’t visible until the fourth day, since the earth’s atmosphere was thicker. First of all, the atmosphere was already transparent enough to see the sun when the first plants appeared in the planet. Moreover, the organisms from which plants evolved had already “invented” the process of photosynthesis and hence needed a substantial amount of sunlight. Finally, there are several studies who show how a plant’s growth is deeply affected by an increased period of cloudy days, and so it’s absurd to suppose that big trees and others could have appeared in a time of thick atmosphere, where the portion of light entering the planet was so weak that the sun wasn’t even visible.

d. Genesis 1:20 and 24 suggests that flying animals came before land animals, which is just wrong due to the fossil and DNA knowledge we have.

3. Magical elements. Some apologists argue that the creation myth in Genesis has a special status, since it’s much more “sober” in terms of reality than the creation myths of other religions. First of all, what matters is the truth. To construct a fable with elements closer to reality doesn’t change the fact that it is a fable. Secondly, the fact that the Genesis account seems less mesmerizing than others is just because the israelites followed monotheism (or at least monolatrism), and hence their creation story was devoid of the many struggles between gods that commonly take place at the beginning of other myths. Finally, it’s important to remember that there are many magical elements surrounding the Genesis story: the book of Revelations talks about a war in heaven between a dragon and his hosts and an angel and his hosts; Genesis itself, just a few pages afterwards, talks about talking serpents, magic fruits and a universal flood that occured just because God was in a bad mood with humanity

The Christian Creation Story. Why Its An Old Wives Tale

Please, this call for opinion/advise is strictly directed to people in the Lord who have been in my shoes, and who are genuinely on fire for God , not to some random nominal Christians who aren't sure of their standing with God or some argumentator who only get validation from likes. Thanks for understanding.

Now, since I gave my life to God, a lot has changed about my life...tangible radical changes.
One of those changes is in that most times or when I go on fasting spree, I find it hard to combine spiritual exercise and my secular interest that are also important 

We all know we have to work to feed. And we also have to explore our interests, but in my case, my fervency for spiritual things almost always takes my mind off other things in such that I can't concentrate on them as I would wish, as spiritual matters takes up my mind the more.
Many times I feel guilty that it sort of makes me procrastinate on personal interest I am working on as I spend my concentration on reading Bible, trying to memorize verses, fasting and praying...And as we also know, fasting takes away strength and inclines one more to spiritual things more than secular personal matters...

How do I strike a balance and still continue to burn for God?
Sincerely, my love for God increases and being fervent brings inner joy and more revelation, but anytime I occupy my mind with my secular pursuit for maybe a week, i notice i feel less connected to God and lose my peace and physical touches of the spirit.....I dont know what i am missing, i truly desire wisdom in this matter....cos i do also have career interest that needs deep attention and full cognition....
I will appreciate sincere reply by true men or sons of God On how to switch between both world and operate effectively in both sides and still maintain concentration

My Spiritual Fervency Is Affecting My Secular Work And Interest. I Need Balance

MFM Has Transformed Into Formidable Presence Worldwide — Olukoya

Greetings beloved readers across and beyond, welcome to this article. Today I want to talk about a new movement coming up and out of the large number of religious believers and followerships here and there. I want to address a few things they do that needs clarity.
A new group of people have emerged recently from amidst the teeming crowd of Christians across the world.
In Nigeria, it's almost shocking to the dedicated religious folks how serious they are. This is because it's quite novel around here, in fact they've formed strong movements and they trend on social media a lot.
These Folks are called the freethinkers. 
Is their purpose of existing to check the excesses of only the Pastors and of various religious clerics, or can they spread the scope to corrupt politicians and the activities of the clerics of other religions such as Islam, African Traditional Religion, Bhuddism, etc? 
These group of individuals however only love to attack Christian Clergymen much more than they do to other religions.
The Christian Clergymen and women are punching bags of some sort for exhausting their anger and bitterness over issues or matters they won't disclose. 
You barely hear them attack the activities of other religious clerics, or politicians obviously out of fear of what repercussions they could get, but they attack Christian Clergyman freely and limitlessly because Christianity is a religion that preaches about forgiveness and about turning the other cheek.
If they turned these attacks on corrupt politicians as much as they attacked clergymen and women, maybe the intensity with which they sandblast their targets will cause the corrupt politicians to sit up and lead well. I want them to try that if their intentions are very genuine.
The way they generalize their attacks would make you think every Christian Clergyman or woman on his or her feet does all the wrong things they strain at.
Jesus Christ calls this act, the act of straining at the gnats.
Also the act of defamation,
some or most of these folks don't know when they step beyond boundaries. 
The question now is are these so called freethinkers free of their own sins and shortcomings while they exhaust all their coarse sandpapers on Christian clerics? 
I'm not saying that the things that are actually wrong which they're pointing out are to be ignored or amendments abandoned. No our various clergymen and women should try to apply some necessary amendments and adjustments.
However have it in mind that the best of man is still man.

Not all clergymen or women are as bad as these folks make them look.
Corruption, manipulation and all kinds of things that these freethinkers accuse us of are just out of the solar system.
And if you guys notice any similar corruption and manipulation amongst the Muslim clerics, and traditionalists, feel free to attack them publicly as well.

Freethinkers Need To Hear This: Apostle Constance Friday's View Of Free Thinking

Prayer is a very powerful tool given to us by God for regular communication with Him. As powerful as this tool is, it is rather unfortunate that many people don’t use it at all while some who do, fail to make the best of it.

The first thing that must be in place for you to pray effectively is focus; all distractions must be done away with. The devil knows that you need to be completely focused to get the best out of your prayer time, and this is why you usually remember some not-too-important things that can distract you during prayers. One of the reasons you see many men of God praying when everyone is asleep is that they don’t want to be distracted. In Mark 1:35, Jesus Christ woke up before daybreak to pray while others were asleep. He went to a secluded place to pray. You must try to remove distractions. Find a secluded place where you can always go to pray. That secluded place could be your closet or any other place without distractions.

Anyone who does not regularly go to a secluded place to pray will eventually grow cold spiritually; I am saying this from experience. Many years ago, God pointed my attention to the fact that I was growing cold. He asked me, “When last did you spend quality time in my presence? Do you remember when you used to worship me in your car so much that my presence will fill the car, and you will have to park by the roadside because tears would have filled your eyes?” I responded, “Yes Lord, I remember, but that was before I had a driver. If I worship you that much now and my driver sees tears in my eyes, he will think something is wrong.” He responded, “Oh, it is now my fault that I gave you a driver?” I quickly apologised. That night, I left the house when everyone had slept to pray in the auditorium. The moment I started worshipping, the tears came rolling down. I had been praying all the while, but the major difference was that I had not been going to a secluded place to pray, and that had made me grow cold. Now, I have made it a habit to pray in secluded places, and my fire has increased greatly as a result.

Afala married a man whose name was also given as Ajayi from the Edu clan, his grandfather was the Baale of Awaiye-petu, who relocated to the Òyó empire from Ketou (now part of Benin Republic).

Afala parted with her lovely son, when he was just 12 after their town, Oshogun, near Isheyin, was invaded by Fulani slave traders in about 1821. As a passionate mother, she waited patiently for the day she will surely meet her son again. 

They finally reunited during Àjàyí's missionary sojourn in Abẹ́òkúta after slavery had separated them for decades.

Madam Afala was later baptized by her own son and was given the name Hannah on February 5, 1848 at Abeokuta. Madam Hannah and some other relatives moved in with the Bishop at Abeokuta where she lived to be over a hundred years old.

A Nigerian prophet has come under intense scrutiny after his prediction that the rapture and the end of the world would coincide on April 25, 2024, failed to materialise.

Despite proclaiming to have been shown the date through divine revelations during trances, the prophet’s claims have sparked a mixture of ridicule and criticism across social media platforms.

The prophet, with the handle @Prophetmetu on X, claimed he experienced the visions on two separate occasions, expressed his own trepidation about the revelations.

In his statement, he emphasised the clarity of his visions, where he saw two distinct mountains and felt a strong divine message. He urged both believers and skeptics alike to prepare for the imminent event.

“If you like take it serious, if you like don’t take it serious, but this is real: rapture is coming on the 25th of April, 2024. I saw it very clear. I saw the date very clear, the Lord ministered it to me twice, it has happened twice,” he declared.

As the day progressed with no signs of the prophesied rapture, social media users began to question the timing and validity of the prediction, leading to widespread discussions about the reliability of such prophetic claims in modern times.

An X user, @LereecalSnipper, humorously remarked on the possibility of the event still occurring later in the day: “Today never finish o, e fit still happen for night. Just imagine say you just vanish when you just alight bus, wan pay conductor, wo! Agbero go bring you back with juju.”

Others questioned the theological accuracy of the prophet’s claims, referencing biblical scriptures that state even Jesus and the angels are not privy to the exact date of the rapture. “Lol. Did God say not even the Angels know the day of the rapture? Una go just wake up one morning dey yarn dust up and down. May the lord forgive you bro,” tweeted @mordi_divine.

@omtoyosi08 expressed disbelief in the persistence of rapture predictions in the modern age, “I can’t believe in 2024 people are still talking about rapture. The world has been in existence for about 38,000 years.”

This allegedly explain the reason why no one has ever observed macro-evolution in real life (i:e how one life form transforms and evolves into a different life form) since the whole transformation is a gradual process which can take millions of years to occur. 

However, on close examination, you will discover that the whole idea of gradual evolution proposed by evolutionists is baseless, meaningless and nothing but deception of the highest order. This is because the creation of new individual life form always begin from SCRATCH--i:e from a single cell--and not from where the gradual evolution supposedly stopped. For example, the creation of new animal form (like mammals) is always from a single zygotic cell and not from lower animal species (like reptiles) 

Given that all macro-evolutionary processes occur through embryonic development, why would evolutionary creation of one animal form (like mammal) from a lower animal species (like reptile) took millions of generations in the past but the creation of the same mammal in the womb from a single cell (which is far far lower than a reptile in evolutionary tree) required only a single generation at this present time ?

It's like you are being told that the journey of Lagos from Ibadan by a certain vehicle took millions of hours in the past but at this present time the journey of Lagos from Maiduguri (which is even more far far away than Ibadan) using the same vehicle required only one hour at this present time. 

Can't you perceive the falsehood and deception in this assertion ?

Scottish historian Thomas Carlyle said, ‘Worship is transcendent wonder. Wonder for which there is no limit or measure; that is worship.’ It’s standing in amazement of the Creator and His creation. It’s translating the beauty of creation into worship of the Creator. It’s thanking God for splendid sunrises, dazzling stars and unique snowflakes. It’s giving credit where credit is due—to the Creator. The psalmist captured it in the words: ‘The heavens declare the glory of God …’ (Psalm 19:1 KJV).

Such wonder is also an act of worship. One pastor writes: ‘The sunrise is so consistent that we take it for granted, but few things are as miraculous as the celestial dance that takes place on a daily basis. The earth spins on its axis at a speed of 1,000 mph. And while it rotates 360 degrees on its axis every twenty-four hours, it is also hurtling through space at the unimaginable speed of 67,000 mph. You may not have any big plans for today, but you will travel 1.6 million miles in your annual lap around the sun. Quite an accomplishment!’ So, take time to wonder and worship God.
