In 1966, Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu led a bloody coup d'état in 1966 which overthrew the First Nigerian Republic, assassinating: Premier Ahmadu Bello and Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. Now this is were the problem start in Nigeria, Although Premier Ahmadu Bello And Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa were corrupt men and was not doing there job as thy were supposed to do but killing was not right option to take! Second Person In Power In nigeria: Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi (1924–1966) 16 January 1966 He entered office but unfortunately 29 July 1966 He was assassinated! Third person In Power: Yakubu Gowon (born 1934) He took office in 1 August 1966 but he was remove from office lucky for him he was not assassinated (29 July 1975)(deposed). Now u will be wondering why the killing, well the honest truth is tht Nigerias are hungry for power and money, which lead to killing and betrayal in the country Nigeria. Sixth person In Power Major General Muhammadu Buhari (born 1942)took office 31 December 1983 was remove from office 27 August 1985 (deposed. ) Seventh person In Power Ibrahim Babangida took office 27 August 1985 resign from office 26 August 1993 (resigned). Eighth Person in power This was the first President in nigeria Chief Ernest Shonekan (born 1936) took power 26 August 1993 remove from office 17 November 1993 (deposed. ) Back to Military Regain Ninth Person In Power Sani Abacha (1943–1998) took power in 17 November 1993 died in office 8 June 1998. One of the most feared man in Nigeria during tht period for good 4-5 years of obedience in Nigeria, who born u well to say anything in Nigeria during that period, but that did not stop the corruption going on in the country at that time. Tenth person in power Abdulsalami Abubakar (born 1942) took power8 June 1998 resigned 29 May 1999 End of Military Regain Back to Democracy! But have Democracy brought any stop to corruption in nigeria or has it increased? Eleventh person In Power Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (born 1937) came in 29 May 1999 till of release 29 May 2007. Same Man that took power in Military! Twelve person In Power Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'Adua (1951–2010) in power29 May 2007 died 5 May 2010[2] (died in office. ) This was a little better at least (pure water is 5naira) Thirteen Person in power Dr. Goodluck Jonathan (born 1957) in power5 May 2010 release from office 29 May 2015 Things start getting out of hand Fourth person In Power Muhammadu Buhari (born 1942) 29 May 2015 till date Pure water N10.. the value of N5 is no more valuable... one Dollar is N396. 34 Where are we going So now I leave u with this question.
