According to reports, Arsenal and Brighton have reached an agreement on a transfer fee of £50 million for Ben White to join Arsenal. Speculation has swirled about Arsenal’s pursuit of White since before the Euros, with the club originally rejecting their initial £40 million deal in June before accepting an improved £47 million offer in September. Despite White’s participation in the England squad that advanced to the final of the Euro 2020 tournament earlier this month, the potential transaction has stayed largely under wraps since then. According to Sky Sports, White ‘wants a move to Arsenal to happen’ and believes the moment is ideal for a fresh challenge. Moreover, Sky Sports reported on Saturday morning that Arsenal had ‘reached a deal’ with Brighton to sign White for a cost “believed to be in the region of £50 million.” A medical examination will be performed when White returns from his vacation on July 26. There is still work to be done before the transfer can be finalised, according to the statement.
