Cause And Effect And Nigerian Security

1

The killing of Muhammed Yusuf in 2009, has had untold effect on the nation at large. That singular act of extra judicial killing has led to the loss of billions of dollars, worth of investment. had the security agencies exercised restraint, the Boko haram we know today would have been inexistent. This case of Yusufs' murder casts a dim light on the self immolation of the Nigerian security agencies. Who repeatedly sets the house on fire to kill a rat. Another Example will be the case of 'Evans The Kidnapper' Back when this man was arrested I was aghast at the reckless media attention and celebrity status given to the criminal Evans, believe it or not. This reckless mistake pointed a lot of criminal elements in the country in the wrong (right) direction. The effect of this is the unrelenting kidnapping we are experiencing in the country now. A lot of people saw that kidnapping can be lucrative. Again The security forces created more problems by unknowingly teaching the Cat how to fish. The third example will be the case of ENDSARS. For years the people of Nigeria complain about brutality and extortion by SARS unit of the police. The govt promise to reform but did nothing concrete. This spiraled into protest that went violent when the same security forces opened fire on the protesters. The result was a tsunami of looting and violent distruction of property in Nigeria, police stations were torched. We are still suffering the effect of this as police stations are still being attack in Nigeria. If the Govt had disbanded SARS earlier, there would have been no looting violent protest and attacks on police stations. The lack of action was tantamount to putting ant infested wood in the fire. off course the smoke will be unbearable. CAUSE and EFFECT. ~SOLID WORLD
