Governor Godwin Obaseki has revoked the certificate of ownership of Garrick memorial secondary school, situated along Ekenwan road Benin City, Siggy reports.
This was contained in a letter dated 9th of September 2021 released by the EdoGIS, a sector of the government in charge of the issuance of the C of O in Benin city
Siggy.ng gathered that the said building before revocation by the Governor, belongs to family of Mr Kehinde Garrick Osemwingie who was one of the directors in the Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and APC campaign team in the just concluded Edo gubernatorial election.
It has been insinuated on social media that the Governor is allegedly going after all those who in one way or the other supported his opponents Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the just concluded Edo Governorship election which he was declared winner
Obaseki has reportedly revoked the C of O of properties belonging to some members of the APC including the former Deputy Governor of the state Dr Pius Odubu
The reason for for the revocation was stated as "overriding public interest".
