Is This The Most Unreliable Politician In Nigeria?
Very recently, Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election just hours after the National leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu intimated Nigeria's President, Muhammedu Buhari of his intention to run for the number one office in 2023. In November 2020, governor Dave Umahi, formerly of the PDP, defected to the APC, citing "injustice" meted on the South-East by the PDP as his reason for defecting. There were speculations from various quarters that Umahi's defection is connected with his ambition to take a shot at the presidency. One of such declarations was by the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike an allegation that Umahi vehemently denied. When rumours of his defection first surfaced in the media, Dave Umahi described the leadership of the APC as a failure and vowed never to join them, therefore dismissing the possibility of him ever switching to the APC. Having followed the events of the political personality of Engr Dave Umahi, and the inconsistencies that have characterised his utterances and actions in the recent past, I am compelled to ask this question: Is Engr Dave Umahi qualified to bag the most unreliable, inconsistent and politically unstable personality of the year award?
