Bandits To Kill Greenfield Students Tomorrow; Shehu Sani Reacts

Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna federal lawmaker, has urged officials to do everything possible to prevent the abductors of students from Greenfield University in Kaduna State from killing them. If the ransom is not charged, the kidnappers, who are alleged bandits, have threatened to kill the remaining 17 students. Recall that gunmen accused of being bandits invaded the university campus on April 20 and abducted about 22 students. Within a week, the gunmen had killed five of the victims, and the state governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, had vowed not to negotiate with any bandit. Sani Idris Jalingo, the bandits’ chief, said in an interview with Voice of America’s Hausa Service that if the government did not satisfy their demand, the remaining students would be killed. He claims there is a market for N100 million and ten Honda motorcycles, which he refers to as “Boko Haram.” “The leader of the murderous Kaduna Bandits, Baleri, who kidnapped the Greenfield Students, gave tomorrow as the deadline for their lives,” Sani, who represented Kaduna central senatorial district in the 8th assembly, said in response to the sad news. “The clock is ticking for the lives of these young Nigerians, and the honor of their preventable catastrophe needs no tears.” The former lawmaker also issued a warning to Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the Governor of Kebbi State, who recently asked Nigerians to pray for divine intervention in the country’s security problems. “The Governor of Kebbi State has urged Nigerians to seek ‘Divine Intervention.’” Be alert, Mr Governor, with that appeal for “Divine Intervention“… The Intervention is going to come in the direction you’re going.”
