Some gunmen on Tuesday attacked Kizachi village in the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna and killed two persons, while two others sustained gunshot wounds. It was gathered that the gunmen ambushed the victims, who were returning from the Bakin Kogi Market. Bakin Kogi is in Jema’a Local Government Area of the state. A government statement said at Karamu Chawai, gunmen killed three persons, while one was injured on Saturday. The statement said the military informed the state of the attack on Kizachi village, which claimed two lives on Tuesday. The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the attack, gave the names of those killed as Musa Garba and Yakubu Yawo, while Monday Joseph and Jacob Thomas sustained gunshot wounds. He said those injured were receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital. “Troops under the auspices of Operation Safe Haven have informed the Kaduna State Government of an attack on Kizachi village in Kauru Local Government Area. “The troops responded to a distress call and arrived at the location to find two persons — Musa Garba and Yakubu Yawo — shot dead. Two others — Monday Joseph and Jacob Thomas — sustained gunshot injuries. “According to reports, the victims were ambushed by gunmen between Bakin Kogi and Narido village, as they made their way from Bakin Kogi Market,” the commissioner said. Aruwan said Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed concern over the attack and sent a condolence message to the bereaved families while praying for quick recovery of those injured. ?
