Nigerians have always celebrated by honoring people with envelopes. Many times, admiring dancers and drummers. Yoruba in particular did it too until it became obscene. Prominent Yoruba wrote and encouraged laws against outrageous display of money. Hushppopi became an eyesore but before him we knew only people who do not sweat for money waste money. Some of it started with displaying money on women to impress them but it has now become an aberration. It is encouraging our Youths into 419, rituals, drugs and kidnapping. It has no value because you cannot steal from the poor and create wealth for them. We are creating abject Poverty. If you do not believe it, there is a country called Nigeria that went from Grace to abject Poverty after Oil Income. All incomes, legitimate or not, are diverted into waste baskets, sewers, burial grounds or laundered out. Some in the neighborhoods where Hushppopi grew up wondered out aloud why he did not develop that area with so many properties for sale. Nigerians have a moral duty to condemn anyone wasting money, no matter which part of the country he comes from. Money worshipers have killed Morality. Laslas, na all of una go pay for your silence and encouragement. It is even worse when a whole ethnic group defend obnoxious money as the others in the same ethics group are scared to speak out. Believe it or not, money is not a god to worship. It is printed papers. It's worth is dictated by Super Power that do not have as much Gold Standard as Gold Coast to defend it.
