The Sustainable Development Goals CDS Group of Osogbo Local Government has on Thursday donated first aid boxes to selected secondary schools in Osogbo, Osun State. The donation was made during the Group's sensitisation tour of four schools in the State. The group sensitized the teachers and students of the school on safety within the school environment and also on the importance of first Aid response should any accident occur within the school. The President of the group, corps member Fajoye Ayodeji highlighted the various accidents that could occur within the school premises, preventive measures and first Aid steps to be taken to mitigate the effects of such accidents should they occur. He explained to the students the importance of swiftness in first Aid response. "When it comes to first Aid response, you need to be swift and rapid", he said. According to them, the donation was done in accordance with one of their core values, which is rebuilding a better world and also as part of their drive to give back to the society having passed through the stage the students are currently passing through now. The President presented the first aid boxes to the four selected secondary schools namely: Salvation Army Middle School, Osogbo Grammar School, Baptist Girls School and Ataoja School of Science. The Administrators and Principals of the beneficiary schools received the boxes with utmost gratitude describing the donation as timely as it will aid the schools swift response to her students when the need arises. The Group further distributed Sanitary pads to female students at one of the schools visited, to commemorate the International Day of the girl child.
