The only teaching hospital in the state is grounded by the ARD industrial action following the non-compliance of the state government. Subvention to the only state own teaching hospital in the state was reduced by half in May 2021. This has made it difficult for the institution which has been paying fraction of salaries to its workers since 2018 to pay any at all. The Association's President, Doctor Olaoye Olaniyi in a statement said "it is hoped that the government will intervene to prevent further loss of lives of innocent citizens of the state who have not been able to access tertiary health care since the action started on July 12, 2020.
