When You Have To Hold Something Despite Not Being Drunk With Alcohol I am someone who's usually under the influence and very drunk, that I often find myself staggering and falling down a lot on a daily basis. But there are times I try to hold something, to prevent myself from falling down, which works most times. However sometimes it doesn't work, because even with my holding something, i would still find myself crashing down to the ground, because my holding something couldn't withstand the full effect of my highness. Yes, I get high a whole lot and drunk to the extent that my two feet were not able to carry me alone, I have to hold something. But it's not with alcohol, because it's not just alcohol that can make someone become intoxicated to the point he has to hold something. On the day of Pentecost, after the Holy Ghost had come upon the church, it was said that they started speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Act2:1-4 This development was said to have caused a stir among the people, that made the multitude who were confounded to come to where the church was, because they were said to have come from every nation under heaven. But every man there heard them speaking in his own language, Hence they were really amazed and wondered what that meant. Acts2:5-12 However there were also those who were said to have mocked them thinking they were drunk with alcohol. Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. But Peter had to explain to them that they weren't filled with wine but of the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Ghost had come upon them. Acts 2:14-21 Therefore it's not only alcohol that could make someone become drunk, because someone can also become drunk and feel very high after being filled with the Holy Spirit. And one of the signs of being drunk with alcohol, is staggering and also falling down. So it appears that those of the church were also staggering and falling down under the influence of the Spirit of God, hence the assumption that they were drunk with alcohol. But they weren't filled with alcohol as was assumed, but with something much better, higher, greater, and sweeter, which is the Holy Ghost. Hence they were able to also do things that someone drunk with alcohol could never be able to do, such as, speak in a language that all men could understand, heal the sick, cast out demons, make the blind see, make the lame walk, raise the dead etc. Moreover it doesn't have the negative or side effects that come with taking alcohol, such as, the health risks, tendency to make people sin or fall into temptation, impairing of one's judgment etc. Instead, it's healing, positively and spiritually inspiring, charges people spirit and makes them to be spiritually inclined and not fall into temptation, opens up their minds and makes them to be very alert and to see and understand things that were hidden from most men, inspires a lot of positive ideas and makes people to be more creative than they normally are, amongst other good things He brings with Him. So the difference was very clear, as there's no negative or side effect of being filled with the Spirit of God. It's all good and no evil, but the same can't be said of alcohol which comes with a lot of negative or side effects for the little good it does. It's no surprise though, because the Holy Spirit is the original while alcohol is the counterfeit. And it's only the absence of the original that would make people go for the counterfeit, as they try to fill the void meant for the Holy Spirit, but if e no be the original, e no fit be like the original. So why get high on the counterfeit, when you can get higher with the original? Those who have tasted the original, as the disciples of Christ would never want to go for the counterfeit, because they've tasted the best so they can't settle for any thing less. God bless.
