Earlier in 2021 the drums of Oduduwa republic was not only deafening but distracting. From Osun to Ogun, Ondo to Oyo, Ibadan to Lagos, every Saturday was one rally or another. Streets were blocked because rallies were being held every weekend. I thought, these guys were realy serious. But I have this Hausa-Fulani collrague and friend who said, this Oodua people are just a bunch of "rabble rousers". I did not believe him until Igboho was captured in Benin. Lo and behold, Odua nation died. No more rallies, all those posturing on "Oodua we Stand wnet into hiding". This reminded me of the parable my mother told me as little boy. It happened that on a particular a day I followed a mate to the stream, about 10 km from home. Now we had three wells in our compound down in the village. Two were filled with water, howbeit from storm rain water. The newer one collects water from rainfall from house roof, thus the latter holds clean water by village standard of the early 80s while other two hold flood and coloured water. Therefore, as a child, I had no need to go the stream, yet I went out of curiosity and peer pressure. That was not the issue, except that a child drown in the stream that day. Later that evening, my parents called me, sat me down and told me a story that has remained a guiding principle in my life till today. The summary of the story is about "a sheep that heard that another sheep in the pen gave birth. Therefire she also started pushing herself and started attracting attention to the owner to undicate that she wants to deliver aksi. Unfirtunately, she was not pregnant but just acting on impulse. The iwner sold her the next market day, because not only was she fruitless, it attracted the owber's attention to her situation". Such is the story of Oodua nations agitators. These rabble rousers heard that IPOB are pushing for Biafra and they started their jingoism. Yet, they were never prepared, no ideaolgy, just a bunch of noise makers. Since Igboho was arrested, they have all gone into conudrum. Noone talks about the man. I hear he is very sick So my question is, Odua Nation is it real or fabble?
