Anambra Polls: INEC Has Dismissed Rigging Allegations
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through its chief secretary of press has dismissed the rigging allegations levelled against it by the people democratic party (PDP).
The PDP in a statement on Sunday accused the electoral body of trying to rig the election by storing the election materials in Imo an APC state of which Governor Uzodinma would have easy access to.
In his reaction, the chief Press Secretary to INEC chairman who responded to the allegation noted that INEC will not be disturbed by familiar but unfounded allegations about an imaginary plot to rig the Anambra Governorship election.
He stated that any political party or individual with evidence of plot to rig the election should make it public rather than make spurious allegations.
“I can say without any fear of contradiction that no court of law has annulled any governorship election conducted by the Mahmood Yakubu-led Commission since its inauguration in December 2015 for rigging,” he said.
