The Conservative Nigerian Youth (Prince Dele Banjo) In regards to the situation at the estate where the commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu was delayed; we will like to inform the commissioner that such brazen act of disrespect cannot occur in a society where African morals and tradition are cherished. It only occurs in a society where indecency is tolerated. We have written petitions to you for you to join our fight against indecency and the erosion of traditional African values. We have urged you to enforce the law on those strip clubs not because we care if they are dancing naked or not but because we know that with strip clubs, the youths will not respect you or the law anymore. Instead the youths will believe that there is no more law and they will believe that they have power after which they will disrespect the authorities and they may even try to overthrow the government. A couple of years ago prior to these strip clubs, such brazen act of disrespect against the commissioner of police could not have occured because back then, there was still African morals, tradition and respect for the elders. But nowadays where girls are dancing naked in the strip clubs of Lagos, there is no more respect for the elders. The security guards who have been emboldened with nudity and strip clubs will challenge a whole commissioner and they will not open the gate for him because indecency results in lack of respect for the authorities. This is why we urge you to help us fight indecency by shutting those hotels and clubs where strippers are invited. Strip clubs and strippers are illegal under Section 134 of the Lagos State criminal law (indecent acts). Dear Sir, shut those strippers down so that the youths and those gatemen can respect the authority of your office.
