Tony Okafor,Awka Gunmen attack: Soludo soldier on, don't be deterred , APGA UK tells ex-CBN boss The All Progressive Grand Alliance, United Kingdom chapter, has condemned the attack on a frontline governorship aspirant in Anambra State,Prof Chukwuma Soludo, wherein three policemen attached to him were killed. In a statement signed by the chairman APGA UK, Hon(Amb.) Eric Nzekwe JP, the group called for proper investigation on the matter. The statement read in part, "The All Progressive Grand Alliance, United Kingdom chapter, has noted with total dismay and grinder of shock the recent assassination attempt on one of the Governorship aspirants of our party in Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo by unknown gun men, during a Town Hall meeting in his community. "To us, such an act is not only reprehensible but a negative precedent that needs outrigt condemnation. We are yet to bring to reality the real reasons behind such a callous and wicked act against Prof. Soludo. "It is very unfortunate and mostly disheartening how such an assassination attempt could be made on Prof. Soludo in his home town Isuofia Aguata especiall when security of lives and properties has become the greatest priority of the Anambra state government. "We condemn outrightly such a heinous and dastardly act and call on the Governor of Anambra State Chief Willy Obiano to ensure that adequate security is provided for Prof. Soludo and other Governorship aspirants of the party in Anambra State. "We also call on the Governor to commence a full blown investigation on the incident to fish out the perpetrators of this heinous and ungodly act and ensure they face the full wrath of the law. "Anambra is a peaceful state, any attempt to cause breakdown of peace and order in the state should be vigorously repudiated by the state government. " It is our firm wish that the November 2021 governorship election in Anambra shall be hitch-free and devoid of any bloodletting. "We however, urge Prof. Charles Soludo not to entertain any fear or be deterred in pursuing his Governorship ambition rather he should be introspective and henceforth be more security conscious by putting all necessary measures in place that will guarantee adequate and proper security of his life. "We sincerely sympathize with the families of those that lost their loved ones in the attack and pray God to grant their souls peaceful repose.
